Nemkhavia Fails in Imperialist NSMZ

with 6 comments

News came yesterday morning that the highest Zealandian authorities and officials had expressed their stern distaste for Nemkhavia’s disrespect of Zealandia’s political and social environment, an environment that is the very culture of Zealandia. Some of the Kingdom’s highest officials resigned, including the King from the position of President and M. Puglisi showed his solidarity. Reports from the Kingdom state that only some twenty minutes before the resignation of the President, Zealandian politicians were showing their disfavour and regret at welcoming the Nemkhav Stability Mission of Zealandia (NSMZ), a sad reminder of Nemkhavia’s imperialist aspirations, and some politicians moved in the Riksdag to see through to the legislative capacities of parliament if the Nemkhav Mission refused to leave Zealandia.

It is clear that this action of Zealandia and her respective government were a matter of national importance, as Zealandian sovereignty has been harmed with the Nemkhav Mission’s acceptance to squander the independence of Zealandia. Zealandia has been struggling since a coup d’état in Ianuario MMXI (January 2012) and it has been clear that advice for navigating these difficult waters of state was necessary but Nemkhavia has once more shown her desire for blood by creating a mission that did not act to advise the Zealandian government from the exterior but, rather, to impede and destroy the sovereignty of Zealandia. For some time, this government has been willing to give Zealandia advise on affairs when asked to by King Håkon, but Nemkhavia went further just after the Mission was expelled from Zealandia and Zealandian sovereignty was restored.

In a public statement to concerned officials, Foreign Minister Hakimoto of the Nemkhav Federation gave an initial well-received and kind gesture at Nemkhavia’s departure, noting Nemkhavia’s continued hope for fair and free elections and continued advice on a new Constitution. However, the public statement immediately turned sour in the next paragraph and Nemkhavia, not living down their façade of democracy and freedom, accused Zealandian politicians, of which Zealandia is their realm and not Nemkhavia’s, of attempting to remove the Nemkhav Mission in response to their work towards a buoyant democratic system within Zealandia. However, according to Zealandian officials, the action to remove the Mission was simply at the distaste of being a colonial puppet of the Federation and having the sovereignty of a long-independent nation belittled and subverted by Nemkhavia. The Nemkhav Foreign minister condemned the Zealandian action by expressing little hope for Zealandia. Unfortunately for the Foreign Minister, Zealandia has long been an independent nation, in all her affairs, and that independence ought to not be attacked by any state believing that they will tame her. Zealandia indeed has her problems, but they will not be helped by the colonial desires of Nemkhavia to expand her sphere of power or influence. Her problems will only be solved by Zealandians themselves and the only help any state or individual may give would be advice from the exterior, and Sandus is prepared to give her that help where Nemkhavia was too overcome by her colonial greed.

Unfortunately, the King of Zealandia has informed us that our stability mission is no longer welcome. We instead shall remain observers of elections which will be organised by the Zealandians themselves, and also as advisers for the drafting of a new Constitution.

This expulsion is in direct response to Nemkhavia’s advocacy for a watertight electoral system, preventing any politician (including the King) from rigging elections or from having undue influence over other citizens’ votes. We also question whether some of the responses to our census survey were genuine. As such, we do not have much faith that a true democracy can take root in Zealandia, and we do not expect much from their upcoming elections.

Sôgmô Increases Tax Rate

leave a comment »

After days spent speaking with Sandum citizens, the Sôgmô has finally approved an increase of the tax rate from 12,000 grains per year to an expected 20,000 grains of rice per year. The minimum payable amount for a single season is currently 3,000 grains of rice per quarter, but it is now advised to pay 4,000 grains of rice per quarter in order to finish payment of 20,000 grains of rice per year. Another system was discussed during discussions last night in which exemptions for days worked or spent in places of education would reduce the expected amount of grains of rice each season, but it was decided to follow the simpler route as advised by Socilivo citizen Sammut of Blesbí.

This increase in the tax rate for FreeRice.com comes before the Sôgmô is expected to expand the abilities of Socilivo citizenship, allowing Socilivae citizens to hail from foreign states which have no Socilivo-state treaty or status with Sandus.

The Lack of Reasons for Such a Grave Move

with 2 comments

Ave, Sandum Citizens, and I hope you excuse the long time that has had to have been waited. I had prepared to write this article last evening, after releasing information on possible tax increases. Unfortunately, that article was attacked, ridiculed and insulted by multiple people, some in the past who have shown their aggression towards me, some who have recently done so, and one who has particularly betrayed me. Alas, it must be noted that I am merely one person. I run this State, its policies, its laws, and its society by effort and work; I have hardly ever wished to betray that message and that purpose I have laid out for myself. However, as I have noted, I am merely one person and those against me are many. Nemkhavia’s Federal Government has three major ministers; this makes it one to three. Those who attack me from the former TASPAC number some five individuals; this increases the ratio to one to eight. And then there are the other, temporary conflicts and issues which number far more. This particular issue last evening marked one to five and, I am afraid, it was an issue of very deep and personal importance to me that the abuse directed my way, the ridicule of our State, cause me to ground myself in human emotions which, if only our State’s enemies had witnessed it, they would understand that our State is no laughing or insignificant matter and that I am not as inhumane as they believe me to be.
This morning and afternoon, I marked three years of our Independence and Sovereignty as a state. While I was in the seclusion of the majesty of our land, I was reminded of the duty I have, the duty we all have as Sandum citizens, towards our world and our State. That is why that, upon returning home, I responded to every piece of hostility against Sandus I could. I was reminded in my duty to serve Sandus, our People, and our State faithfully. Just as I have done countless times before — upon the anniversary of Sovereignty from St.Charlie, upon the anniversary of the State, upon the anniversary of the Great and Eternal Victory, upon my election as Sôgmô on the Winter Solstice — I swear my oath of faith, loyalty and fidelity to the State and may I make an altar out of my bureau.

Tonight rings out Händel’s Wassermusik amongst those gathered within the Palaso. Unfortunately, the music’s call and beckoning is to great to discard or to not follow in its path. Therefore, I hope you excuse this article’s lack of ceremony as I go, paragraph-by-paragraph, to respond to the accusations against us.

In the first paragraph of M. Hakimoto’s reasoning, if it could be called such, he says that the article could be considered an official response and continues to note his informal writing. Though I normally do not encourage such to be utilised, and I hold no authority over M. Hakimoto, I do believe his concept of informal is not so informal as it is unnecessarily direct or personal, though there would be no fault in this save for the fact that it makes it appear exactly that — personal rather than official. However, I will largely respond in the same manner that he has responded. I would, too, like to note that if this is in fact Nemkhavia’ official response that the Nemkhav Federal Government had informed me, by the mouth of Prime Minister Mejakhansk, that no such reply would be given. In fact, so as to provide evidence — as M. Hakimoto has asked a lot of me lately and we have asked the same, save for a more grave matter — these were the exact words:

The Government didnt feel it to be in the Federation’s best interests to have relations with Sandus, so upon a democratic vote, the relations were cut. That is that, the statement is a matter of procedure.
[5:14:34 PM] Marka Mejakhansk: It doesn’t need to release anything
[5:14:45 PM] Marka Mejakhansk: we could quite easily have decided not to release anything on the matter

[5:24:42 PM] Marka Mejakhansk: The Federation has no further comment to make about it, it ends here with us

Upon writing, which I was aware of before the “Op-Ed” was published, it was clear that these statements were about as true as the assurance given to this government the night of the 22nd of April, which foreshadowed Nemkhavia’s first hostilities and violations of the former Treaty on the 23rd of April. M. Hakimoto informed another micronational official, just as M. Mejakhansk admitted later on, that these statements by M. Mejakhansk were in fact false and that the action of responding was expected and, in fact, planned. Of course, this is no surprise to this Office, but it is a surprise that Nemkhavia would lie on such a petty issue and do so deliberately. Even if they did not intend to write a response, they have violated these assurances and statements. Therefore, I believe that Sandus and the Central People’s Government is warranted in noting the lack of trust in Nemkhavia, even without the treaty to support relations.

M. Hakimoto has defended the statement, stating that this Office pointed out their indecision. However, such is certainly true or something similar when there is still no explanation of events and no explanation or reasons for the actions taken. The only thing Nemkhavia notes is our hostility, which is far from truth when one considers the 23rd of April, the 23rd of May, and the 19th of May. Multiple micronationalists, from Sandus, her Socilivo States and abroad, have asked it of Nemkhavia to provide reasons; they not only outright denied it when the incident was fresh but they have done so again today. M. Hakimoto blames Nemkhavia’s “stepping back and analysing the situation”. However, if such was the case, would Nemkhavia have not stepped back and analysed terminating all relations with Sandus before taking such a grave action? It makes little logical sense to have said that the reasons were not published because they were being analysed and, yet, that is typically an action that is taken at the on-set of such a grave move on Nemkhavia’s part. Perhaps it is Nemkhavia’s haste that they did not heed their “usual method of addressing a crisis”, by merely foregoing one of the most important steps of any rational or logical decision: analysing the problem.

M. Hakimoto then continues to address this Office’s argument on the lack of the liberty of speech. He seems to have confused the importance of M. Mejakhansk’s quick action to make sure that M. Hakimoto did not comment on the action with the mutual responses of both. We concede the fact that M. Hakimoto’s response was the same as M. Mejakhansk, but it is a matter of decency and of upholding this façade of Nemkhavia’s to have let M. Hakimoto responded without intervention by the Premier. Would it not have made more sense, citing the constant self-promotion and self-righteousness of Nemkhavia — especially after the actions taken on the 22nd of April, to have followed through to have upheld the self-made image of Nemkhavia as the defender of democracy and liberty rather than to have a higher authority in the Federal Government intervene in a citizen’s ability to expression? In such a way, this is the very fact of Nemkhavia’s façade. It proclaims democracy and freedom to the intermicronational world and, yet, it does not provide freedom to its citizens, it denies the rule of democracy in the GUM, it intervenes in the democracy of foreign nations, and it obstructs the liberties of expression even within our own State — a nation that, until the 23rd of May, had a legal requirement of respecting those rights. With M. Mejakhansk’s rash action to make sure M. Hakimoto did not step out of line, answering for him when the questions was clearly not addressed to him, it has been shown that the façade of Nemkhavia was easily collapse as just as easy it was constructed.

And now begins Lully’s Te Deum.

And so begins with Nemkhavia’s trump card in the entire dispute.
The Federal Government claims that Sandus some how harmed Nemkhavia by voting in relation to its lack of confidence in former Chair Dullahan of Wyvern. As M. Mello pointed out, M. Hakimoto’s article clearly displays the clear favouritism towards the Nemkhav delegation, which is further reason for his lack of confidence. As Chair, this Office has treated all members as equal, which Nemkhavia has interpreted as being a harm to herself. I have been reasonable with the sadly divisive issues of emoticons within the Lounge, I have been fair in the treatment of delegations and delegates that I am not on friendly terms with and, whenever I would ever take action against them — as I did with the Nemkhav President Whitmarsh for his clear breach of decorum and respect, I made sure to see if the Supreme Judge was in approval. Now, this argument of Nemkhavia’s dates back to when the Supreme Judge ruled that Sandus’ support of the vote of no confidence, which we neither proposed nor motioned for, was of a potential and hypothetical threat to Nemkhavia. If such was a real and concrete threat, however, Nemkhavia would have most likely not grabbed at this sole violation, to their five violations, with such ecstatic lust and passion for their aggression against us. Such a “violation” was even acknowledged to be hypothetical by the Supreme Judge; Nemkhavia’s entire defence of “you did it too” rests on this single, hypothetical “violation”.
Recognising our “mutual faults”, however, resulted in not only a meeting, but also an agreement from that meeting. Such an agreement was mindlessly violated by Nemkhavia. Furthermore,  the only fault we had, to Nemkhavia’s several, was one that was hypothetical and that we merely agreed could be perceived as harmful. According to M. Hakimoto’s play of events, it appears that the meeting was to take place in the future, and yet it had already happened. We came together, made an agreement, and then Hakimoto states that Sandus began to attack Nemkhavia in Quorum. Such can be further from logic or truth. The issue arose from the fact that Koss had recently decided to join St.Charlie, a move that Sandus did not look well upon since it would mean the destruction of her sovereignty — something Sandus has always advised against, and not from Nemkhavia. Furthermore, unlike what Hakimoto has led others to believe, nothing came of this discussion and it was dropped. To this day, such a concept has not been put to work, sadly, as it was meant to advise other, younger micronations. It is difficult to seek the best interest of younger micronationalists when you tell them to succumb to the power, might and influence of larger micronations. I would believe that is completely irrelevant to the concept of giving advise to micronations, as it clearly means their demise. Furthermore, just as Nemkhavia has defended her shameless growth, Nemkhav officials have stated that it would mean less nations joining the Federation, meaning that Nemkhavia will do what ever it can to continue to expand in numbers and power — effectively creating an era of imperialism within Nemkhavia that is now under attack by both Sandus and those who have recently taken action within Zealandia against the NSMZ. Finally, it appears that Hakimoto has forgotten his own Premier’s inquisition of this Office the day before such was even brought up.

Hakimoto then defends his Premier’s inquisition of Sandum media, arguing that they were “respectful”. Such is hardly the case when the Premier believed this Office to be guilty of some offence or another and, yet, claim that they were being respectful. It does not make sense to be believed to be guilty and to be treated with respect; this is the very origin of our argument that Nemkhavia and her Federal Government openly undermined the sovereign rights of Sandum citizens for expression and undermined the inviolability of our sovereign media. This was, in fact, the first shot that Hakimoto confuses with the President’s ridicule and insult. It was hardly constructive, as M. Hakimoto believes, to have the right and sovereignty of Sandus’ media to be violated by a foreign power, especially instances of that media being from the CCPS-cooperative and then from this Office. Such is not constructive criticism, that is plain inquisition for the purpose of defaming and undermining our State. Especially when the conversation was asked to be ended multiple times and it continued, it became unbearable for this Office to continue the masquerade that the Nemkhav Premier had set up for us.

And, finally, Hakimoto argues that Sandus believed Nemkhavia not to be an ally after the Quorum and the media incident. However, normalcy had been returned to again after both events and chaos did not reign again until Nemkhavia severed all relations with Sandus. It was only after that point that this government recognised that Nemkhavia was no longer friendly towards Sandus, as it was noted that after the 23rd of April Nemkhavia was not either — until the 29th of April. To have even believed that Sandus did not honour her treaty and agreement with Nemkhavia is completely false, as the Libera article written on the Voice of Sandus was trimmed down to include only A1 and not Nemkhavia in order to note the improvement in relations between Nemkhavia and Sandus. And, yet, to this day, Sandus continues to approve the use of arbitration and diplomacy to restore relations and, yet, Nemkhavia has now out-right denied, much like they did before the 29th of April, any sort of diplomacy or arbitration. This, too, is completely against the self-created image of Nemkhavia for its love of peace, liberty, and democracy.

And, to this day, Nemkhavia seeks to further its imperialism by expanding her façade. News has just been received from Zealandia that Nemkhavia’s hand-in-the-pot has now become so imperialistic and heavy-handed that all major politicians within the nation are revolting against Nemkhavia’s stability “mission”, rather than providing assistance from affair as advice. Nemkhavia still defends her right to imperialism under the disguise of attacking this State for wanting to advise against joining larger micronations for new micronationalists, something which is mere common sense when your intention is to advise on their sovereignty. Sandus, however long we must fight, is determined for our security, peace, and fighting imperialism. Until the next response or action taken by Nemkhavia, we shall be ready and prepared to act.

And, yet, to this day, Nemkhavia still denies giving any coherent, concrete or actual reasons for breaking off diplomacy with Sandus, unlike what M. Hakimoto set out to address in his article.

leave a comment »

Audio for this article can be found here.

As a part of today’s celebration for the Third Anniversary of the Independence of Sandus, the Sôgmô shall be leading a procession of citizens in the Kremlum Sandus province for heading to the rivers of the Patuxent watershed. The first procession shall be to the Middle Patuxent river, just a few miles from the Palaso d’Etato, where the Sôgmô shall lead the procession in prayers under his capacity as Sacra Flameno of the Collegio Sacerdae collective.

After lunch, the next procession shall then leave from the Palaso d’Etato and go by car to a garden on the shores of the Triadelphia Reservoir, that is a part of the greater Patuxent River, where the Sôgmô shall be observing the plants on the far-shore of the river.

The Sôgmô shall be joined by other citizens and residents of the Kremlum Sandus province, though celebrations also extend to the Socilivo State of Blesbí where Socilivo citizen Sammut shall be celebrating with another procession around the island of Malta which shall finish with a small dinner. Celebrations shall continue into the night, with a hopeful essay on the concept of micronational Activation Energy to be published this weekend in commemoration of the event as well as a general fête celebrated later in the night. However, the celebrations shall not hinder the Office of the Sôgmô in its capacities, as the promised article responding to Nemkhavia’s reasoning behind its recent actions is expected later in the afternoon.

Sôgmô to consider Increased Taxes

leave a comment »

The Act on Citizenship of Martio MMXII instituted the duty of all Sandum citizens to perform and meet taxes in order for the greater social work of the State of Sandus. However, unlike other forms of tax, the Act on Citizenship approved non-monetary forms of taxation to be used. As in ancient civilisations which did not utilise currency, the State has promoted the use of charity and donations to other causes, not including the State. The role of taxation is stipulated in Section 1 — Citizenship, Articles 6 through 8, which declare:

Article 6. Forms of taxation for the State of Sandus may be levied to all levels of citizenship for donations to the State, for charitable work to individual and world communities, and for work for both the State and the world according to policies of social activism and compassion; these forms of taxation are levied for the advancement of the State and its policies, and individual citizens may decide their form of taxation at times of the census.
Article 7. The State of Sandus and its socilivo states are obligated to conduct a progressive and quarterly census for elections, taxation and general knowledge of the State; registration for the elections and tax declarations are conducted at times of the census.
Article 8. The State and its socilivo counterparts may hand down punishments for not meeting tax quotae, though punishments may not exceed a requirement of the failed quotae or reducing civilae to peregrae status and must benefit Sandus or its policies.

However, due to the arrival of the Summer season, in which many Sandum citizens are free from other obligations, the Office of the Sôgmô is currently considering levying an increase in the expected tax for the Summer seasons. At present, the average rate of taxation is 3,000 grains of rice on FreeRice.com and this may increase further but the Sôgmô has not yet specified a definitive amount, though the Office has considered increasing the rate to some 5,000 grains of rice for the Solstice and the Vernal Equinox. The taxation rate for the Sôgmô, which is currently at the average of 3,000 grains per season, may increase to double the current amount and, if the expected increase to 5,000 grains passes, the Summer amount may double as well. Over the next week, before the month of Iunio, the Sôgmô shall speak with key Sandum citizens and discuss the possibility of increasing taxes.

The Sôgmô may begin the precedent of contributing money to charity as well, predominantly to Stop CSA, a charity that is dedicated to awareness and to the end of child sexual abuse. The Sôgmô, a victim of heinous sexual abuse on nearly daily occasions for four years of his childhood, has explicitly stated that his attempt to stop sexual abuse will not end at the mere donating of funds to charity. The Sôgmô has also stated that he is considering joining and donating time and work to organizations such as Grassroots, a charity in the region of Kremlum Sandus that seeks to serve those in need and the homeless.

The increase of taxes and incorporation of communal charity will be added to the Policy Projection tonight for XXV to XXXI Maio.

The Nemkhav Façade

leave a comment »

A report from the Central People’s Government of the State of Sandus, published on Veritum Sandus.

Audio for this report can be found here.

It was believed that the week between XXII and XXIX Aprilo (the 22nd and the 29th of April), the week which saw the demise of the GUM’s Chair Dullahan and the betrayal of Nemkhavia, marked only the bottom point for Sandum-Nemkhav relations. In multiple articles, this State responded to slander and libel against it and only ended when both states agreed to terms for friendship on XXIX Aprilo (the 29th of April). Unfortunately, that agreement was violated this afternoon.

In a deliberate and sole action of the federal government of the Nemkhav Federation this afternoon at 15:50 SLT (GMT-5), the Nemkhav Federal Government declared that all foreign relations with the State of Sandus were to be cut. At that time, no reason or any specific detail on the vague term of “cutting” foreign relations was given. It was not until some time later, after such a grave and important matter was brought up, that reason was given. It was expected of the Nemkhav Foreign Minister to give the statement to the Central People’s Government; however, the Foreign Minister was seemingly unavailable. The Nemkhav Federal Government then altered their course of action, in an attempt to libel our State, to have the Federal Government release the statement. The text of the motion in the Nemkhav House of Territories read as thus:

THIS HOUSE

Noting that the State of Sandus has gained power in the Grand Unified Micronational through questionable means;
Noting that the State of Sandus is now misusing that power against the Nemkhav Federation;
Noting the ongoing hostilities by the State of Sandus against the Nemkhav Federation;

Decides to:
Officially cut all diplomatic ties with the State of Sandus

The first note was in direct violation of the 29/4 agreement reached between Sandus and Nemkhavia. Such an agreement noted that actions could have been perceived in such a way, but that it was not the intent. Furthermore, the agreement stipulated that all efforts should be taken in defence of that freedom. Indeed, under the authority of the Office of the S8gm8, all action was taken in defence of that agreement, including the clear self-defence of the State as was noted when the Nemkhav Prime Minister slandered this State for the print of an article in the Voice of Sandus, the official newspaper of the Citizens’ Communist Party of Sandus and not the State of Sandus — as this journal, Veritum Sandus, serves. Such an act of libel against this State by such a high-ranking official, and then by his fellow ministers in power, served as violations of the agreement reached on XXIX Aprilo (the 29th of April) and the Nemkhav-Sandum Treaty, which Nemkhavia had proven to violate many times before in Aprilo.
The second note served as an extension of the first note’s violation. No evidence has been given by the Nemkhav Federal Government and has been specifically denied to be given when requested by GUM members and delegates. As of yet, no evidence shows and act of an abuse of power by the Sandum delegation or the Sandum government in that diplomatic venue against the Nemkhav Federation or its government. Indeed as of  XIX Maio (the 19th of May), the Nemkhav President was suspended from the GUM due to unprofessional and unethical behaviour concerning a blatant slandering of the GUM Acting-Chair and the S8gm8 of the State of Sandus; such a suspension was ruled by both the present and former Supreme Judges Tierney and Caesar to be of legal grounds. With the authoring of this motion and of the subsequent statement received later on, it is plausible that both authors were the President, perhaps acting out of anger or distress.
The third note is one, too, which Nemkhavia denied giving any evidence for. Perhaps it was the conversation begun by the Nemkhav Prime Minister, which began with distasteful and harsh words against the CCPS’ newspaper, and this government’s subsequent self-defence of the CCPS’ right to speech and press, which is enshrined within the Founding Law of Sandus, that led to this note. However, at this time, Nemkhavia has isolated itself in its bickering and incompetence.

And such begins the issue of the term “officially cut all diplomatic ties with the State of Sandus”. Such a vague term is left up to interpretation, interpretations which may vary from being considered merely speech by the Nemkhav Federal Government or a deliberate change in policy so as to completely by-pass the State. However, to do the latter, as this was surely intended, the Nemkhav Federation would have to completely alienate itself from the State of Sandus. Otherwise, it is by its membership within organisations, such as the GUM, that Nemkhavia shall never completely cut all diplomatic ties with Sandus. It is with the passing of the Federated Republics of A1 that the Nemkhav Federation has seemingly taken over the role of aggressor against this State, as was noted in the Prime Minister’s libel, the President’s immature “joke”, this recent action, and the actions before it. Such a new role of Nemkhavia, which has overthrown the friendship and partnership between peoples, is definitely intended to last the regime of President Whitmarsh, whose social and political policies have nearly always been at the juxtaposition of this State’s.

When such news of Nemkhavia’s blatant aggression reached members and delegates of the GUM, those present, including those with uneven pasts in relations with Sandus, came out in defence of Sandus against this aggression. Mme Caesar, the delegate for Austenasia, outright defended this State and questioned the accusation of the Nemkhav Federal Government that Sandus had engaged in “hostilities” with Nemkhavia. Joining in Mme Caesar’s curiosity over such a grave move by the Federal Government, M. Mello, the delegate for Koss, asked for specifics from the Federal Government, a request that was outright denied. M. Puglisi, acting as delegate for Juclandia and is the President of Tiana, joined in those curious by noticing the (sic) “mounting ridiculous claims against the State of Sandus.” M. Puglisi continued in asking why the motion was created, noticing the fact that the Nemkhav President had been suspended from the GUM; the statement that followed did not clearly respond to this question, as was promised by the Prime Minister. In a statement only two sentences long and drafted over a period of some six minutes, the Nemkhav Federal Government released this statement:

“The Federation has deemed the recent nature of the Sandum State towards the Nemkhav Federation as being “unfriendly” through the actions of its leader, S8gm8 Soergel, towards the Federation itself and its legislators. The Federation thus deems it necessary to annul the previous treaty signed with the State of Sandus as we, the Government, believe it to be no longer in our interests to hold diplomatic relations with the State of Sandus”.

Note the parentheses, not common in direct or original statements.
This has led the Central People’s Government to believe that this statement was authored by President Whitmarsh and not its presenter, Prime Minister Mejakhansk.

This statement, however, gave no actual evidence or reasoning behind Nemkhavia’s militant action, despite the government promising that all questions would be answered by the statement; still, the Nemkhav government refuses to answer questions. Even when the Nemkhav Foreign Minister Hakimoto was asked to comment, Prime Minister Mejakhansk quickly interrupted Hakimoto’s response by stating that he shall give no response; how ironic, then, that Nemkhavia upholds itself as the democratic and freedom-giving micronation within the community, at the same time the Federal Government refuses it of its citizens to comment on such aggressive action and defames foreign media.

When such a statement was received, the Lounge of the GUM was in disbelief. M. Mello summed up this disbelief in the simplest sentence: “I hope that is not your full statement.” Unfortunately, it was affirmed immediately after that it was in fact the full statement of the Nemkhav Federal Government. M. Mello continued with his criticism of this statement by stating that he “was expecting something more”, perhaps “specifics with actual grounds”, and that “it seems pretty personal”. M. Mejakhansk indirectly affirmed the belief that he did not author the statement and, rather, ignored answering the question directly by merely saying that the question was “irrelevant”. However, noting the suspicious behaviour of the Federation and the suspicious statement, it is quite clear that Mejakhansk did not author the statement and, rather, President Whitmarsh is the most likely individual to have authored it; following this statement’s defence of the motion, it is also likely that the author for the statement and the motion were the same. Such, perhaps being perceived as ‘irrelevant’ or unimportant by some, would affirm M. Mello’s suspicion and that of this government’s that the President Whitmarsh acted out of personal endeavour for power, the same unethical behaviour that Nemkhavia accused Sandus of without evidence back on XXIII Aprilo (the 23rd of April). However, unlike the Nemkhav Federal Government, this statement and this analysis, approved by S8gm8 Sörgel and Mme Caesar of Austenasia, clearly identifies the Nemkhav President as acting out of personal hatred against this government or personal desire for political power.

Regardless of the Nemkhav Government’s failure to respond, the Sandum Central People’s Government, following in the advice of the same Libera politics that were slandered on XIX Maio (the 19th of May) by the Nemkhav Premier, has proven that it shall defend itself. By the clear voice of facts, it has been shown that Nemkhavia’s hostile actions against Sandus, which date back to the first violations of Aprilo MMXII (April 2012) of the Nemkhav-Sandum Treaty, have persisted past the mutual agreement reached on XXIX Aprilo (the 29th of April). It is clear, while Sandus has upheld the terms of the agreement that stipulated an end to aggressive talk between both sides, that Nemkhav provocations have continued to the present time and have made relations between Sandus and Nemkhavia unbearable. Sandus would never have taken the action to suspend or embargo relations with Nemkhavia, noting Sandus’ history with Nemkhavia, but that action has been taken by Nemkhavia, with no care for smaller and less powerful nations such as Sandus. It is a testament to the dedication of this government, which is much smaller than the other governments of micronations amongst the elite in the intermicronational community, that Sandus has persisted against all her enemies; it is a testament to Libera politics, the topic that preceded this very issue, that Sandus has continued against such a large and over-bearing nation such as Nemkhavia, being over-bearing even towards her own citizens. Whilst Nemkhavia may falsely propagate that it is the bastion of democracy, freedom, and peace, Sandus has been a victim of Nemkhavia for those reasons: Sandus has defended her media and that right of her citizens, Sandus has caused no undue harm or done no undue ill-deed against Nemkhavia, and Sandus takes the consideration of all her citizens and partners into account upon enacting law and policy. On all of the “maxims” of Nemkhavia, Sandus has excelled beyond them and has proven its perseverance to Libera and its dedication to herself. So while Nemkhavia claims its defence of democracy and liberalism in the intermicronational world, this façade of Nemkhavia is stripped away by President Whitmarsh’s own corruption and the Nemkhav Federal Government’s own incompetence to destroy the same façade they have constructed.

Libera: Victory over A1 (VoS)

leave a comment »

From the Voice of Sandus:

Libera, a word which resonates in the ideology and philosophy of Sandus, is known for its emphasis on independence and freedom. Indeed the word means exactly that, originating from Latin liber. It stresses the importance of self-defence and independence in politics and government, and its implementation has done exactly that. Since the times of infamous aggression directed at our State, and even to today, Sandus has followed Libera, even without its definition.

In 2010, during the Great Ideological Conflict with Wyvern and the Intermicronational Conservative Alliance, Libera’s stress on self-defence was utilised when the ICA promoted policies of “fighting Socialism”, an imperialistic aim to do away with Socialism. Libera was used even before that, during the Insola War, when Sandus denied the ultimata against us from New Europe and Pristinia. Even in the OAM and the community today, Libera shapes the politics of Sandus.

One such event that it has shaped is our relations with A1, Yabloko, and, most recently, Nemkhavia. Despite A1′s growth in political affairs within the community in 2010, Sandus looked on its growth with disdain. Very little had warranted its growth: a micronation built for fun with a Liberal passing off as a Communist, its leader’s unfortunate choice in a pseudonym and his arguments against micronational sovereignty that came later, despite the fact he was a micronationalist. A1′s rise in power — which seemed to have little to no basis for intramicronational growth in politics or responsibility, as has been seen even recently with Koss and with Havnesgade-Amager — was synonymous with that of Yabloko, which both formed into a political alliance under TASPAC. TASPAC’s constant abuse of our State, besides its two leading members having no basis for their growth in power besides their own prostitution and seduction over other micronationalists, was one mere cause of Libera’s implementation in Sandus’ constant self-defence.
If micronationalism had wars, the political disputes and conflicts would be them; and if those were our wars, Libera politics would crown us by Nike.

To this day, former TASPAC members continue to attack and berate Sandus and her Central People’s Government. However, they have no regard for our Libera politics. Do they not understand that it is the ideology of Sandus to continue to defend ourselves, until the metaphorical death? This has been shown with the demise of A1 and the abuse we have received, from TASPAC puppets and the puppeteers’ marionette arguments, over relating this Victory over Aggression to the Victory over Fascism that is celebrated on the IX of Maio, especially when the former happened on the occasion of Lemuria along with Remembrance Day. This Party, this State, and our Government is completely dedicated to our self-defence under the premise of Libera politics.

Mercuralia MMXII

leave a comment »

Sacra Flameno Gaius Sörgel Salutem Plurimam Dicit pro cette Mercuralia:

Commemorated on the Ides de Maio (Ides of May), le Dixa-Cinqua (XV) Maio, this is the first time that the Collegio Sacerdae has celebrated Mercuralia — the Festival of Mercury — which is held as the date of birth of Hermes, as He is known in Sandus by His Greek name. According to tradition, on this day, merchants from Rome would celebrate by sprinkling festive and auspicious water from a well near the Portus Capena onto their heads, wares, and ships by laurel boughs. The day’s auspicious deal would then be sealed by the merchants, as Hermes is the God of Commerce and Merchants, by a luxurious feast with their family and other merchants.

Though the Collegio Sacerdae was founded in April of 2011, the practice of celebrating religious festivals did not begin until Armilustrium MMXI on XIX Octobro MMXI. Although not all religious festivals are celebrated, today’s festival was celebrated with the sprinkling of water from the water vessel upon the Altar of the Buddha in le Palaso d’Etato, Kremlum Sandus, onto the head of the Sôgmô, the Buddha, the thangka of Kalachakra, the image of Athena, the bust of Lenin, and the poster commemorating the Battle of Kursk.

The next festival expected to be commemorated by the Collegio Sacerdae shall be Agonalia MMXII, which falls on XXI E Maio.

Di vos incolumes custodiant!

– Sacra Flameno Sörgel.

A1′s Disappearing Act

leave a comment »

Ave, Sandum Citizens, et «Ura!»

Le Chant du Départ, the first anthem of Sandus and a patriotic song of our State, has been ringing out of le Palaso d’Etato this evening. Word was finally revealed by M. Frederic Bayer of Pristinia that A1, the state behind many attacks against our State, has begun the process of dissolving. In a day reminiscent of the demise of Nazi Germany on May 9th, 1945, it appears that the Federated Republics of A1 will seemingly disappear as a micronation due to the demise and departure of its founder Philip Mallis, who has taken the pseudonyms Philip Fish, John Hogg, and now Gordon Freeman for the defence of his “future” career as an Australian politician. These reports, though having been confirmed by the current First Secretary Wilary, are to be approved by the independent media outlet of the Pristinian Herald, which is expected to be a full and comprehensive article that the Office of the Sôgmô and the Central People’s Government awaits.

In a message dated from 07:02 SLT/GMT-5, M. Fish has finally pulled out of he FRA1. The news comes after a day of concern for A1 and Sandus’ display of its excitement and happiness at the event. M. Fish and A1 are remembered in Sandus as the leader and state which brought the demise of Sandus’ once-closest ally and a national hero, the constant slandering of our State and Central People’s Government, and constant aggression and hostilities brought against this State during A1′s life in the elite of the community.

It has been shown that Sandus’ determination and will to follow its beliefs and philosophy has finally won through to a final and ultimate victory following the demise of the two premier TASPAC member-states, despite A1′s slander and aggression against us and the paths of amusement of hobby micronationalism. Sandum Citizens, 67 Years of Victory over Fascism and, now, 15 hours of Victory over Aggression! Ura!

– Sôgmô Sörgel.

The following message was sent this morning at 07:02 SLT/GMT-5 and made public at 21:38 SLT/GMT-5:

I told him that the A1 stuff will stay as an archive
And that he and the others have to get their act together and either: a) become totally independent of each other; or b) form a new entity similar to A1 but elswhere
He can haz no adminship of anything :P
A1NS stuff will stay up
Onepedia stuff will too
Most of the rest will be archived

Former First Secretary of the Federated Republics of A1 Philip Fish speaking on the final demise of A1.

The following message was sent at approximately 22:14 SLT/GMT-5:

News is coming out that, as of 07:00 SLT today, the founder of A1, Philip Fish, is forcefully pulling out and disestablishing the Federated Republics of A1! All Civilae of Sandus are currently celebrating the demise and coup d’état of A1 by its own Founder, who has proven himself on multiple occasions of his aggression and hostility towards our State!

Sandum Citizens: URA! Victory! Victoiro! Victoire!
Let us sing le Chant du Départ towards the final and ultimate victory of our State! Ura!

This message of reasoning for Sandus’ celebration of A1′s demise, which was questioned by M. Mello of Koss, was given:

The demise of one of Sandus’ closest allies and my personal friend, the constant shaming of Sandus as being run by some awful individual with sexual desires and his own ego running the state, A1′s capacity and ‘friendship’ amongst the youthful micronations in 2010 that directed their anger towards Sandus during the GUM-OAM issues.

Today is a happy and proud day for our State.
